Portuguese Wine and Food

13 April 2012, Alfama, Midtown

Diane, Nicole and I decided to do a repeat of late March and caught an early dinner before a choir concert at St. Thomas’s Church where we were going to hear Verdi’s Requiem. We went to a Portuguese restaurant, Alfama, in Midtown East which had an extensive, primarily Portuguese, wine list.

We ended up with a bottle of a 2010 Esporao Reserva White:

2010 Esporao Reserva White

Medium body with a floral nose that reminded me of Viognier. A good balance of acidity and lemon with some structure and backbone from the oak. Delicious wine that went well with both the salad, rice and rish we ordered!

** 2010 Esporao Reserva White, $20
